Mama Glow: A Book Review

"Nature and our bodies are always communicating with us.  We've just forgotten how to listen.  So trust and move into the unknown; that's where the magic begins."

-from Mama Glow by Latham Thomas

I've read numerous pregnancy handbooks and guides and Latham Thomas' Mama Glow: A Hip Guide to Your Fabulous Abundant Pregnancy is at the top of my list of favorites.  It is a must-have for moms-to-be, even before conception.  With an abundance of practical life-style and self-care practices, nutritional tips, woven together with empowering affirmations and words of wisdom, Latham Thomas shows mothers how to nourish their bodies as well as their minds and spirits.

Mama Glow is divided into five parts.  Part one covers the importance of wellness before conception, offering guidelines for internal cleansing as well as tips for clearing your external environment in preparation for this sacred journey.  Part five provides valuable information for after the delivery of your precious baby. In between, you will find a wealth of knowledge to help you feel good and look fabulous throughout each stage of your pregnancy.  The appendices contain additional resources, including a detailed birth plan and great recipes.  So far, the cranberry-curry couscous and the gingerly mashed sweet potatoes with lime are two of my favorites.

This was a fun to read book even though I'm not expecting a bundle of least not the newborn kind.  I highly recommend this book to anyone who is planning a pregnancy.  It makes a great gift as well.
