What's Your Dream?

When I was a teenager, my grandmother shared that dreams of fish symbolized pregnancy.  This became the way my inner voice communicated whenever I was pregnant.  I will never forget the dream I had a few days before learning that I was pregnant with my soon to be nine-year-old daughter.  I dreamt of fish swimming in the sky.  How odd, I thought.  And today, within weeks of her birthday, I came across this poem by Hafiz.

"A Suspended Blue Ocean"

The sky
is a suspended blue ocean.
The stars are the fish
That swim.

The planets are the white whales
I sometimes hitch a ride on,

And the sun and all light
Have forever fused themselves

Into my heart and upon
My skin.

There is only one rule
On this Wild Playground,

For every sign hafiz has ever seen
Reads the same.

They all say,

"Have fun, my dear; my dear, have fun,
In the Beloved's Divine Game,

O, in the Beloved's
Wonderful Game."

-Hafiz

"The stars are the fish that swim," says Hafiz.  Incidently, my daughter's middle name is Starr and her zodiac sign is Pisces.  And every day she reminds me that life is meant to be fun.  As adults, we often forget how important it is to laugh and play.  Children help us to see what we often forget...the wonder, the simplicity, the delight, the magic that exists in each day.  They remind us to dream big, cherish our dreams and love the life we live.

That is what our Creator intends for us.   To live.  To love.  To laugh.  To play.  To be and become more of ourselves.  To each shine in our own unique way.  To embrace each day.  To remember our soul's dreams.

We all have something to give, a song to sing, a dream to live, a gift to share.  What's your dream?

Love and blessings,

Kathleen
