Self-Hypnosis and Subliminal Technology: A Book Review

I have to admit that I was not drawn in by the title of Eldon Taylor's new book, Self-Hypnosis and Subliminal Technology: A How-to Guide for Personal-Empowerment Tools You Can Use Anywhere.  Still, I am always open to learning new concepts and techniques that relate to self-empowerment and accessing one's full potential.  It is with this intention that I read this book that I received for review purposes.

As I began reading, I immediately connected to the message that the human mind is powerful beyond measure and what one believes becomes true for them.  Each day of our lives is filled with  a host of information, sometimes conflicting,  from innumerable sources such as television, the Internet, radio and other forms of advertisements.  How do we determine the truth of what we believe?  How do we reprogram the "script" and change the deep-seeded beliefs that don't allow us to embrace our greatest potential?  How do we connect to positive affirmations so that we may feel the truth of them as opposed to just saying a bunch of phrases?

In Self-Hypnosis and Subliminal Technology, Eldon Taylor shows us how to access information about ourselves and replace self-limiting beliefs with more affirming ones.  He shares his experience of overcoming his own fear of public speaking to now speaking to large audiences.  His personal and professional experiences have allowed him to develop programs that speak directly to the subconcious mind in order to reprogram negative ways of thinking.  He also offers steps to creating customized programs.  The accompanying CD features progressive relaxation, meditation and visualization exercises that can be used in the comfort of your own home.

As Eldon Taylor reveals, real change is possible.  We don't have to hold on to our fears, limiting beliefs and ways of thinking that clearly do not serve us well.  And as I've recognized, there is always more to learn.
