The Power of Believing

On a recent episode of Super Soul Sunday, Oprah shared that "Amazing Grace" would be the theme song for her life.  What a beautiful expression, I thought.  This inspired me to consider which song best describes my journey of life.  If I had to choose just one, I would have to say, "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey.  While I don't believe we live in a "lonely world,"  I do BELIEVE in life.  If there is a glimmer of hope or even the slightest possibility, I will "hold on to the feelin."

At an early age, I recognized the power of belief.  I believed in the goodness of life and in my ability to choreograph my world.  Much of what I played out in my mind became my reality.  I carried this belief into adulthood.   It has helped me to co-create an amazing life.  It allows me to always see the beauty that exists around me.  It enables me to recognize that there is a lesson or message in life's challenges.

I can't say exactly what each day will bring, but each day I make plans, consider my choices and actions, pay attention to my dreams and intuitions and continue to believe.  Many years ago, my mom gave me the following poem by Emily Matthews.  It has been one of my creeds.

Believe in Yourself

Believe in yourself -
in the power you have
to control your own life, day by day,
Believe in the strength
that you have deep inside,
and your faith will help
show you the way.
Believe in tomorrow
and what it will bring -
let a hopeful heart carry you through,
For the things will work out
if you trust and believe
there's no limit
to what you can do.
                                                                 -Emily Matthews

So, what is your theme song?

Love to you and many blessings this holiday season.
